Setting the ball is the second most important technical skill of volleyball. The ball cannot be carried, lifted or double contacted. To get started in understanding how to set yourself up for a proper set, bring your right foot slightly forward and shift your weight to your back leg. Put your hands on your hips. Then, in keeping with the same arm angles, bring your hands over your head to make “moose ears” until the ball reaches your finger tips and you drive them forward into a “superman” finish.
