When choosing a hockey stick size, bigger isn’t necessarily better. The rule of thumb when picking out a stick that suits your height is to measure your stick while in your skates. The top of the stick should come to chin height. If measuring out of your skates it should come to about the tip of your nose. But some players like to go bigger to gain more reach with their stick, while others prefer a shorter stick, gaining greater puck control in close, tight areas. Watch this short video for more on how the stick height affects your game.
